First make sure you’ve added the necessary internatonal keyboards to your device.

iPod/ iPodTouch/ iPad:
You can do this by tapping Settings -> General-> Keyboard-> International Keyboards-> Add new keyboard. Select the missing international keyboard. To use the keyboard click on the international keyboard button between the toggle key and the space bar. Tap again to select the next keyboard in the list of international keyboards you turned on in Settings. If you press and hold the international keyboard button, a list of all the international keyboards installed will pop up.

Android:
Go to Settings -> Language and Keyboard -> Multi-touch Keyboard -> Input languages. Here you’ll find the languages and support you need. On some devices you can change the input language by pressing and holding ‘Q’. On others you can do it by pressing and holding the space bar. On some phones the functions might be named slightly different, but they’re definitely there.
